DJ Hero is a great music game but it is also a polarizing one.  How much fun you have with this one will largely depend on how much you like this style of music and how co-ordinated you're capable of being.

Whether you’re a fan of MMOs or FPSs, you’re most likely going to love this game. There’s a huge element of skill and organisation you can implement to get the most out of the game, yet if you’re not so hardcore (then shame on you!) there’s still plenty of fun to be had here.

You have to admit that from a marketing point of view, the marriage between Lego and Rock Band would have any money hungry publisher gleefully rubbing their hands together with dollar signs in their eyes; oddly enough it’s a marriage that actually ends up being a funny and enjoyable game that is a welcome relief to that hardcore rockin’ out we’ve become so accustomed too.

Sometimes it takes a game like Dragon Age: Origins to remind me that being a geek is quite often a pleasant thing to be. Elves, dwarves, noble knights and dragons are the bread and butter of geekdom and Bioware definitely knows where their bread is buttered by making such an epic RPG that will appeal to us hardcore fantasy nerds.

As the middle part of what will probably be one hell of a trilogy, it progresses the story, asks more questions than it answers and leaves us wanting more. Assassins Creed 2 is one of this year’s must have games.

For every randomly evolved life form on the planet that is familiar with videogames will of no doubt heard of Ratchet and Clank. There has been at least seven games that I’m aware of that star either character and for it to still have legs can only be taken as proof that Insomniac know how to make great games and loveable characters.

Are you sick of rocking to songs that are only for the hardcore? Band Hero has your back.  You have to admit that people into music games have had a cracker of a year, DJ Hero, Lips, Singstar, Guitar Hero 5; Lego Rock Band…the list goes on.   Whether you like to sing, like to rock, like spin the wheels of steels, everyone in every demographic has been catered to, and that includes Activision’s newest game, Band Hero, aka Guitar Hero for pop fans.

This is actually a tough review for me to write. What do you say about MW2 that no one else has said already? How are you supposed to tell people about one of the best games of the year when everyone on the planet is already playing it? Finding the answers to these questions is probably a stupid exercise and maybe we should instead focus on providing another validation on what you guys probably already know.
Barely a year ago, Valve dropped a major bomb for online gamers with the release of Left 4 Dead. Even a year later people are still playing, and particularly in Australia’s case, unless you’re able to import a copy that hasn’t been censored, you’re probably better off continuing to play the original over this bare bones version that barely resembles a game of any worth at all.
